Corporate governance

The role of corporate governance remains a key factor in the success or failure of a company. Revelations of corporate scandal and reports of the damaging repercussions of bad Boardroom conduct highlight the increasing need for companies to invest in a sound corporate governance strategy.

The principles/rules governing corporate governance are constantly evolving and countries worldwide are at different stages in this evolution. In this section we highlight some examples of good practice corporate governance reporting from around the world, in part to raise awareness, but also to inform the overall direction of travel.

United Kingdom

Best practice corporate governance reporting (2007)

The compendium is a repository of good practice examples of corporate governance reporting, featuring extracts from the annual reports of FTSE 350 companies for reporting periods ending December 2006 or later.




Best practice corporate governance reporting: supplement 2007

The publication features extracts from published corporate governance statements of FTSE 350 companies and provides a repository of good practice disclosure examples, across all sections of the Combined Code (issued 2003). It also provides helpful hints to assist companies in their future reporting, and the tools for companies to benchmark their corporate governance statements good practice.




Best practice corporate governance reporting (2005)

This publication provides a useful reference compendium of extracts from corporate governance statements that relate to the 2003 Financial Reporting Council Combined Code. It is designed to assist companies in their future reporting. Extracts featured are from the 2004 reporting season.
